Cat & Mouse

Have you ever noticed that people always want the person who wants them less. A woman will overlook a GREAT man because she's so infatuated by a GREAT dog. A man will be bored with the chic that just wants to be with him, but the chic that pays him no mind and ignores him, well that is the woman he's intrigued by.

Whether its cat chase mouse or mouse chase cat, does the chase ever end? Do you brace yourself for rejection and become the chaser? or do you decide to be the chasee knowing that if you ever get caught you won't be wanted as much?

What is is about what we can't have that makes what we can have so boring and not enough?

Does marriage level out the cat and mouse game or does the same game continue but is now acceptable because there is a ring?

Some people are lucky, they meet someone and have equal interest in each other. But this is rare and does not happen often. Which introduces an interesting question. Is it better to be the cat or the mouse, why?

Let me know your thoughts.

What the Hell!!!!

In the past 48 hours I have heard some troubling stories. We are living in crazy times and the things that are happening are not only senseless but they are stupid!. My home girl told me she was robbed at gun point at 9:30 pm in front of her condo. The only thing of value she had on her was her Motorola Droid. A young boy stabbed his father in the neck because of the advice his dad gave him regarding a video game he was playing. A young girl was raped at Montgomery College, right in the ladies rest room. A mother and son were on the way to the doctors office for the son to receive his Chemo treatment when the woman was robbed and the purse that was taken had all her sons medications. Last but definitely not least a young girl was raped in broad daylight in a commercialized neighborhood why bystanders did nothing. Drivers and passengers witnessed the rape and beeped their horns but the rapist merely stopped, looked and continued to rape the younger girl.

I'm sure you all are as horrified as I am to hear of these heinous acts. It is so sad that some individuals have no regard for something as precious as life. To rape someone in broad daylight or stab your own father over a video game is sick. In this sick twisted world we live in I implore you all, especially the ladies be observant, alert and most importantly please be safe.

Baby Daddies

Today I want to talk about a conversation my girls and I had the other day. It seems as though some of my single friends thought it was a plus to date a man with a child, while a few of the others thought it was definitely a minus. I just listened in on the subject and let my four girls debate it amongst themselves.

The pro-baby daddies, thought that a man with a child is attractive because it shows he will be a provider and also a family man. "Watching a man with his son or daughter is the cutest sight to see" my friend exclaimed. "It makes me instantly think of family and marriage" was the exact phrase that SHE used.

The anti-baby daddies said that a man with a child means baby momma drama and is unnecessary drama. She referenced the open door policy that people with kids have (ya'll know what I'm talking about) and said her own personal experience with a baby daddy just made her think baby daddies are more promiscuous than the single men. According to HER, woman like my friend enable baby daddies to be some of the greatest players they are...all because they think its cute to see a man with a kid. In other words, she's saying that men with kids are chic magnets.

I watched my girls go back and forth in this discussion. Alot of woman have been talking about this lately and I believe it was even a discussion that was talked about on the radio just a few weeks ago. My thought is that in this age in our lives we should know what we do and do not want to deal with. A child does not necessarily make a man a "family man". It simply means that he either a) got caught out there and is now taking care of his responsibilities or b) he was with someone and thought they would be raising the child together but it didn't work out. Either way that has nothing to do with anyone new that he meets. Dude might take care of that kid, but tell you to get an abortion, you never know. As for the "chic magnet" theory, hmmm that's and interesting one. Not all women these days, especially the ones without kids are checking for a dude with a kid. Some woman might get past it but there will still be others that will not. Either way, people always want what they can't have so that makes the chic magnet theory flawed to me because the baby daddy will probably be chasing the chic that doesn't' like that he has kids.

For once I'm going to keep my opinion to myself and say this. Know what you want and what your willing to deal with as there are pros's and con's to everything. Family man/chic magnet, these are all stereotypes that a dude might not necessarily fit once you get to know him. A single man with no kids can be a family man just as much if not more than a man with kids and the chic magnet baby daddy might be cute but when he has to drop off the kids at his BM's house (baby mommy)every night at the exact time you want to see him, is it still cute then that he has kids???? You never know, so know what you want for yourself and stick to it.

The Beauty of a Hobby

In the mist of my busy schedule surprisingly I have found time to pick up a new hobby. Knitting! yep you read correctly knitting. I must admit the initial idea was only appealing to me because I was looking to cut back funds on Christmas presents. I figured I could make a few scarves, maybe some leg warmers and some fingerless gloves. What I didn't realize at the time is that my new cost effective hobby wasn't as easy as it appeared to be. The scarf that I was making for a male friend of mines was a disaster however, I kept at it.

I began working on a scarf for myself as a test drive and I can honestly say I am quite proud. It took me 1 week to make my new scarf and I love it! Its something very rewarding about setting a goal and achieving it. It may be something as small as a scarf but I will always look at it and be like "dag,I made that". Which means I'll be knitting my 1st child some booties.

Nonetheless, I think its pretty obvious what everyone will be getting for Christmas next year. By then I will have enough experience to make gloves, hats, scarfs and legwarmers. In the meantime, check out your girls work first hand, yeah.

Happy New Year's Folks!!!!

The plan was to write my first blog for 2010 on January 1st, but I guess it didn't work out that way, being as though today is the 3rd. Anywho, let me start by saying Happy New Years to everyone!! My holiday was fantastic and I hope yours was too.

Here's a quick recap:

I got everything on my Christmas list except for the house and matching doggie (kinda knew I wasn't going to get those two this year). The diamond studs, louis V bag, I-Pod touch and Uggs are all fabulous. I haven't really had a change to play with my I-Pod Touch yet but I'm sure I'll get around to it soon. The gift that really made me smile was the earrings. My earlobes will be totally blinged out. Aren't they beautiful?? I'm thinking diamond earring 2009 um.....diamond ring 2010 lol.
Back to the recap, my mother and brother came to stay with me for Christmas and it was really nice. I still cannot believe I hosted Christmas at my young tender age but I think it came out pretty nice. Check out my table decor`.
After the family left I was on my own in terms of New Years Eve, but everything worked out. I made it to church at 11:30 which was later than I planned but I was so glad I made it I couldn't complain. The energy in church was amazing, and even though I was at church by myself there was no better place I would have rather brought in the New Year.

At 12:30 I tipped out and headed to my friends get together. There was food, cakes and drinks galore, I was in heaven. We ate, socialized, played with the wii and my title of TABOO champ still remains in tact. I left there about 4am and made it home with no tickets, not accidents, no problems. All in all New Years Eve was STRAIGHT.

New Years day unfortunately proved itself to be a little more challenging but I prevailed. I worked the PT on New Years and the following 2 days. Working 2 jobs is getting to be a bit tiresome but I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet. With some of the things going on in my life right now the PT proves as a good way to keep my mind occupied and distracted from the nonsense. I haven't really seen much of the extra money I've made but my wardrobe has seen it. I guess having a PT to support my habit isn't too bad as long as I'm responsible with the money from my FT job.

I didn't write out any resolutions like I usually do but I have them fresh in my head and I plan to stick to them.
1. I will try to develop a thicker skin, absolutely no more crying, no more crying. 2. Get back on my workout grind and do a 5k again this April.
3. Get more people to read and follow my blog, so people get to reading.
4. New motto for 2010 is "If you like it, put a damn ring on it!" so fellas, don't waste my time or yours.
5. Last but not least, I will be a home and pet owner by the end of this year.

I feel very confident about these resolutions. They are achievable, attainable and definitely something to look forward to. I hope you guys enjoyed your holidays as much as I have. Life is what we make it, so lets roll up our sleeves and make it happen!
